Assessments & Report Services

At Thriving Minds Clinic, I provide a range of psychological assessments for children, teens, and adults. Assessments are a powerful way to gain clarity - whether you're trying to understand learning challenges, behaviour, emotions, or possible neurodevelopmental differences like Autism or ADHD. An assessment can help identify what’s happening, how it impacts day-to-day life, and what kind of support might be most helpful moving forward.

What I Offer

I offer comprehensive assessments tailored to your individual needs, with services available across the lifespan - from young children to older adults. This includes:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Specific Learning Disorders (Dyslexia) (e.g. reading, writing, mathematics)
  • Intellectual and cognitive functioning
  • Emotional and behavioural concerns
  • Mental health assessments (e.g. anxiety, depression, trauma)
  • Adaptive functioning
  • School-based assessments for learning and classroom supports
  • University-related assessments for exam adjustments or academic accommodations
  • Insurance-related assessments
  • Funding reports for services such as NDIS & school access

What To Expect

Each assessment is customised depending on your referral question and needs. Most include:

  • Interviews (with you and/or caregivers)
  • Standardised testing (e.g., cognitive, academic, emotional, behavioural)
  • Questionnaires and rating scales
  • Observations (especially for younger clients)
  • A written report
  • A feedback session to discuss the results and next steps

I aim to make the process as calm, respectful, and collaborative as possible - whether I’m working with a child completing puzzles, a teenager navigating school stress, or an adult seeking clarity around their mental health or diagnosis. There are some instances where Assessment sessions are required to be structured and I'll discuss this with you in our intake appointment.

Who Are Assessments For?

Assessments can benefit a wide range of people, including:

  • Parents looking for clarity about their child’s learning, development, or emotions
  • Teenagers struggling with attention, social interactions, or low mood
  • Adults exploring a potential late diagnosis of Autism or ADHD
  • University students needing academic adjustments or mental health support
  • People applying for NDIS, school supports, or insurance-related claims
  • Anyone wanting to better understand how their brain works and what might help

You don’t need a formal referral to book an assessment - just a sense that something isn’t quite right or you’re ready for some clarity and guidance.

Reporting That Makes Sense

I take care to write reports that are both clinically accurate and easy to understand. Reports can be used to inform supports within schools, communicate with doctors, universities, workplaces, or support services. If required, reports can also be tailored for:

  • NDIS funding
  • School access and exam adjustments
  • University support
  • Insurance claims and return-to-work plans
